A Unique Educational Institution

St Hurmizd Assyrian Primary School, was established in 2002, is a year K-6 co-educational Christian independent College of the Holy Apostolic Catholic Assyrian Church of the East.

Our Mission

We provide students of any background a unique education based on 21st century pedagogy in order to equip them with necessary skills so that they will be active Australian citizens, reflecting the faith, heritage, language and culture of the Assyrian Church of the East.

Our Vision

We foster the heritage and Christian values of the Assyrian Church of the East, developing individuals who strive for excellence, are life-long learners, and live their faith.

Our School Crest

The school crest is rich in symbolism, reflecting the school’s values of Faith, Heritage, and Education. At its centre sits a cross, representing the Christian faith, which is fundamental to the school’s mission. It signifies the presence of Christ in education and daily life, guiding students in their development. Behind the cross, the sun symbolises the East, and the book represents knowledge, wisdom, and learning. This reflects the school’s dedication to academic excellence and its role in illuminating the path to personal and intellectual growth.

The emblem also features open arms, symbolising welcome, inclusivity, and a strong sense of community. These open arms reflect the school’s commitment to embracing all students with warmth and support, ensuring that every individual feels valued and accepted. The gesture also represents faith in action, inspiring students to extend kindness, generosity, and service to others.

The school’s values—Faith, Heritage, and Education. Faith nurtures a strong connection to Christian teachings, encouraging students to live with integrity, purpose, and compassion. Heritage honours the school’s rich cultural and historical Assyrian roots, instilling pride, a sense of belonging, and respect for traditions. Education serves as the key to lifelong learning, equipping students with knowledge, critical thinking skills, and a passion for discovery. Through these values, the school empowers students to reach their full potential and contribute meaningfully to society.
