Strategic Plan

The foundational years of schooling are vital for fostering inquiring minds. These years are critical for developing the habits necessary for future success. St Hurmizd Assyrian Primary School looks to harness this sense of wonder.

The world is changing; if we are to prepare our students for the next 10, 20, 30 years of their lives beyond Primary School, we must change the way we educate our young people.

Research shows that a current 15-year-old will likely have a working life spanning five different careers and around 17 different employers. It has been predicted that 40 percent of existing university degrees will soon be obsolete and traditional undergraduate or postgraduate degrees could disappear within a decade. There is no doubt many jobs of the future are yet to exist.

To be employable and positively contribute to society in the future, young people will need to be problem solvers, creative and critical thinkers and good team players.

The School Principal worked closely with the Assyrian School Board to develop our vision for St Hurmizd Assyrian Primary School that will ensure we are tackling this challenge head-on. We have therefore created a new strategic direction to chart the course of the School over the next five years.

This has resulted in the decision to celebrate ONE St Hurmizd. ONE St Hurmizd underpins all aspects of our vision for St Hurmizd Assyrian Primary School, our students and our staff. The next five years will see staff and students understand the power of ONE. The importance of being ONE learning community and the power of the ONE individual to make a difference.

As a school and community, we are absolutely committed to innovation, wellbeing and academic excellence in the education of our students. We are more committed than ever to prepare them for the future.
